Inter Milan’s Serie A title aspirations took a setback as Bologna fought back to secure a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The result marked the second draw between the sides in their last three league meetings and kept Inter from closing the gap on league leaders Napoli.

The visitors signaled their intent early, with Nikola Moro testing Yann Sommer in goal. Sommer produced a superb save to tip Moro’s effort onto the post, but the rebound eventually led to a breakthrough. Moro’s mishit volley fell kindly to Santiago Castro, who capitalized by slotting home in the 15th minute. This goal ended Inter’s long-standing defensive streak in Serie A, having gone without conceding since early December.

Inter responded quickly, displaying their resilience. Federico Dimarco’s powerful strike was parried by Lukasz Skorupski, but Denzel Dumfries was on hand to pounce on the loose ball, restoring parity.

The Nerazzurri, who lead the league in first-half goals this season, continued to press. Sommer had to remain vigilant, pulling off a brilliant two-handed save to deny Jens Odgaard’s header. Inter eventually took the lead through Lautaro Martinez. Dimarco, heavily involved throughout the game, set up the Argentine striker, who delivered a clinical finish from inside the box just before halftime.

After the break, Inter maintained their attacking momentum, with Skorupski called into action to stop efforts from Martinez and Dimarco. However, despite the hosts’ dominance, Bologna found a way back into the game.

Against the run of play, Riccardo Orsolini delivered a clever pass to Emil Holm, whose deflected shot off Alessandro Bastoni found its way into the bottom corner. The equalizer, coming just after the hour mark, swung the momentum in Bologna’s favor, setting up an intense final stretch.

Buoyed by the leveler, Bologna grew in confidence and pushed for a potential winner. Inter, on the other hand, leaned on Dumfries’ dynamic play down the right wing to reignite their attacking efforts. Despite the high-energy exchanges, neither side managed to break the deadlock before the final whistle.

For Inter, the draw marked a frustrating halt to their six-game winning streak in Serie A. Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna, while relieved to earn a hard-fought point, remain winless in their last three league matches.

The result leaves Inter three points adrift of Antonio Conte’s Napoli at the top of the table, though the reigning champions have a game in hand. With the title race tightening, Inter will need to rediscover their winning touch to stay in contention.
